We recommend that rabbits and other small mammals have examinations twice yearly. Since "pocket pets" such as rats, mice, guinea pigs, hamsters and gerbils only have a lifespan of 2-4 years, and rabbits usually 5-8 years, many health issues can arise in a short period of time.
Contact this Fort Collins Vet Clinic if you would like to set up an appointment for your pocket pet!
In addition to the comprehensive services provided for regular annual exams, our small companions will receive special attention including:

  • Their continuously growing teeth will be examined for any abnormal alignment that may be creating tooth or jaw pain or difficulty eating.
  • The nails and fur will be carefully examined for overgrowth, hair loss, or parasites.
  • Your pet's home environment, diet, and nutritional needs will be evaluated and suggestions provided in order to help them live a long, healthy life.
