Dr. Callan Cooper

Dr. Cooper grew up in Texas and earned her Bachelor's at the University of Texas in Austin. She then escaped the heat to pursue graduate training in (human) cognitive science research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After graduate school, she worked in the medical technology field for a time; but in her spare time, she found fulfillment by volunteering at wildlife rescues and animal shelters, while also training dressage horses and riders. As a lifelong animal lover, she decided to make animals her full focus and went on to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Wisconsin.

After a stint in the cloudy Pacific Northwest, Dr. Cooper and her wife made the move to the beautiful (and sunny) Front Range in 2023.

Dr. Cooper has experience in emergency/ICU care, urgent care, and general practice veterinary medicine. She cares deeply about the human-animal bond: Dr. Cooper is Fear-Free certified, and is a certified cat lady (AAFP Cat-Friendly Practitioner). She never stops learning, and prides herself on keeping up-to-date on the latest science and medicine.

Dr. Cooper and her wife share their life with two beautiful dogs, a small fleet of bizarre and wonderful cats, and a lovely Lipizzaner horse.
